William Hauserman
Entertainment Director
Mr.
Hauserman received his BA in theater from Towson State University and his MFA in
directing from the University of Minnesota. He has worked for over 20 years with the Army, all but the first 3 ½
here in Hanau. Prior to coming to Hanau, he served as Theater Specialist
in Karlsruhe, Germany. He has 3
daughters, Nora (21), Katharina (18) and Sarah (16). His wife, Gail, is a teacher at the Hanau Middle School.
Mr. Hauserman has run an extremely successful Entertainment Program over the
years and continues to do so. Past
achievements include Muenzenberg Renaissance Faire, Quedlinburg Festival, award
winning theater productions, hosting USAREUR level Battle of Bands, Stars of
Tomorrow Contests, One Act Play Festival, Tournament of Plays, hosting Army
Soldier Shows, USO celebrity shows and numerous Armed Forces Entertainment
Shows. His bands, individual
performers and theatrical productions always do very well at the USAREUR level
competitions, winning many awards or nominations.
Mr. Hauserman’s awards include the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian
Service, NATO medal for service with NATO on Operations in Relation to the
Former Yugoslavia, numerous Army commendations, an award from the
Minister-President of Hessen for promoting good German-American relations, the
Irving Berlin Award for Outstanding Entertainment Programming, the Outstanding
Entertainment Program awards at the regional, European and Army worldwide levels
and the 2003 104th ASG Recreation Career Award.
